Character Education
Based on the educational philosophy of "character first", SMIC cultivates children with good character, solid foundation, broad career and healthy body.
Character education aims to build children's character foundation through core characters and practices such as gratitude, honesty, self-confidence, punctuality, etc., and to let children know their mission and value in life through special classes, large scale activities, and themed class meetings.
Through multiple perspectives such as knowing oneself, appreciating others, cherishing blessings and loving things, protecting nature and team service, we cultivate children from the inside out to have an independently developed personality and the ability to have happiness.
Small Class Size
With no more than 30 students in each class, SMIC has a better classroom experience and a caring off-campus experience where teachers focus on the different needs of each child.
Mentorship System
The junior and senior high school departments implement a mentor system to guide students' academic life and career planning and provide professional guidance services for further education. Personalized hybrid system and traditional homeroom system are in parallel to improve the team building and service consciousness of students. The small class system plus multi-level teaching, with inquiry-based learning and cooperative learning, cultivate students' independent exploration ability and self-drive.
Integration Curriculum
The integration course of SMIC is a interdisciplinary course integrating English, Chinese, science, mathematics, art, music and life education, which is based on the four major sections of life education curriculum: people and people, people and themselves, people and life, and people and environment.
Tiered Teaching of English Courses
While strengthening oral learning, SMIC's English teaching places great emphasis on the development of English academic skills by offering full English classes in science and social studies, and increasing the amount of English writing to expand students' English skills in both breadth and depth.
Starting from junior high school, English teaching will be differentiated according to students' English foundation and learning ability by implementing a tiered class system and tailoring learning plans for students.
Comprehensive Student Evaluation System
Instead of using student grades as the only way to evaluate students, SMIC gives different weights to students' attendance, classroom performance, homework presentation, and test scores, and evaluates students' abilities in a comprehensive manner.
Home-school co-education - close home-school relationship
