school uses open, rich and highly selective courses to nourish the growth of every life of SMIC.
Over the past 15 years, the school has constantly summed up its experience in practice and
built a 15-year curriculum system with SMIC characteristics from kindergarten to senior high
school. It has formed a basic curriculum with national curriculum as the main part and English
science, Chinese and English reading and writing as the characteristics; a growth-oriented
curriculum with life education, mental health, career planning, etc. as the main content; an
expanding curriculum with International Day, Charity Sales, various social practice activities
as the main content; a research-based course that combines robotics, STEAM and PBL.
In addition, there are more than 70 kinds of personalized courses in 6 categories for the
development of students' specialties and more than 30 student associations.

Academic English course
In order to meet the different requirements of students for English learning in the domestic
high school entrance examination and overseas study, the school has formulated different
curriculum standards and established a characteristic English curriculum system from kinder-
garten to high school. English teaching refers to the American native textbooks with rich con-
tents, starting from the first grade to read novels and non-fiction, strengthening the improve-
ment of children's language intelligence and the cultivation of reading skills, forming an inter-
disciplinary curriculum with English textbooks as the main axis, bilingual Chinese and English
as the carrier, and integrating English, Chinese, science and life education.

When students graduate from elementary school, their English listening, speaking, reading,
writing and language comprehensive application skills far exceed the current junior high
school English curriculum standards. English proficiency and literary literacy can reach the
graduation level of junior high school students in ordinary public schools; graduates from
junior high school can seamlessly connect to the basic education courses of English-speak-
ing countries.
In recent years, in the domestic senior high school entrance examination with a full score of
40 points in the computer-based English test, the average score of students is 39 points and
above. In the unified examination, the children showed excellent English literacy. The full Eng-
lish score of the senior high school entrance examination is 120 points, and the average score
of SMIC students has been above 110 points for many years.
In the high school stage, in addition to completing the nationally prescribed courses, there are
rich oral English classes and English activities with foreign teachers every week to improve
students' English application ability. The international class also provides EAP and AP cour-
ses for current students to improve students' English academic ability, social ability and think-
ing ability in an all-round way.

Through the four dimensions of "man and self", "man and man", "man and environment",

ment, warmth and a sense of accomplishment, every child can feel the beauty and meaning

Here, life education runs through the 15-year study career from kindergarten to high
school. Starting from kindergarten, character-themed courses cover all aspects of chil-
dren's life in the kindergarten.
At the same time, SMIC provides character education and life education courses for
junior students, a series of courses such as "Youth Sailing" for middle and senior
students, and academic career planning for senior students. The fifteen years here
are the most important fifteen years in a child's life. Using life to influence life and
using life to change life is what SMIC's life education has been doing. Here, every

The Life Education Center not only serves students, but also provides consulting ser-
vices for students' families. Classes for parents are held every semester, and pa-

With the development of curriculum integration in international schools and the advent of the
knowledge era, we have found that integrating subject knowledge and integrating application

Through the study of integrated science courses, students are full of curiosity and enthusiasm
for exploring nature, understand scientific knowledge adapted to cognitive level, experience

In natural scenes, children can experience the magic of science close, and even bring many
scientific experiments home to observe the changes and growth of life with their parents. Bio-
logical evolution, plant reproduction, ecosystem, greenhouse effect, sowing and seedling raising,
cuttings and grafting, nutrient allocation, mushroom cultivation, insect breeding, hydroponic
system construction, "insect hotel", data recording, surveying and mapping, comparative ana-
lysis... the nature of the greenhouse.The natural science class in the greenhouse not only make
children fall in love with nature, but also bring many scientific experiments into the family.
In SMIC, science lessons are not confined to the classroom, but in every natural scene of
education. Respect life, love life, perceive life, and integrate into the characteristic science
classroom of various disciplines.
Over the years, the school has not only fully considered the development needs of
students in the design of curriculum system and content, but also embodied the
characteristics of the school in the implementation of the curriculum. Individualized,
small class, tutorial system and stratified teaching are implemented in an all-round
way. There are no more than 30 students in each class, and the ratio of students to
