This semester, the direction of overseas study in the SMIC high school is still fruitful.

Stanford University, UCLA, University of Washington, University of Toronto, University of Mel-

bourne and many other world-renowned universities have sent offers to SMIC students.

The children have gained a lot. Every moment of striving for their ideals is like a bright pearl,

shining brightly.

Recently, we had the honor to interview several high school students who graduated this year.

The children shared their feelings about studying in high school and summarized some expe-

riences in the process of applying for their dream universities. Let us have a closer look at

the learning and life of SMIC high school students.

Stanford University has always been Student Y's ideal university. Through unremitting efforts,

Student Y got the offer as he wished, and generously shared with everyone some of the har-

vest of learning in SMIC and valuable personal experience.

Student Y has studied in SMIC School for 12 years, and the biggest gain is his strong indepen-

dent learning ability, setting goals by himself, making reasonable plans for the goals to be achieved,

and putting them into action.

For example, after setting the goal of applying to American universities, in addition to academic

requirements, there are also various extracurricular activities, awards, and letters of recommen-

dation, etc., which are all necessary preparations. In this process, you still have to set a reason-

able plan for yourself, which is a very big personal growth for Student Y.

Since Student Y is a senior transfer student, he also encountered some difficulties and chal-

lenges in the process of transferring from a Chinese environment to an English environment.

In the system of foreign universities, the requirements for reading and writing are relatively

high, and certain social skills are also required, and these can be well realized in the English

Track. An inclusive culture and environment allow students to be themselves freely and ac-

cept their differences from others. Whether it is an "academic school" who likes to find fun

in books, or an "action school" who likes to explore in practice, in the environment of SMIC

Education, everyone can find friends who are similar to themselves and collide with sparks

of thinking.

In the in-depth study of literature, history and philosophy, everyone will often discuss topics

related to life exploration such as "why do people live", further enhance critical thinking and

independent learning ability, and grow up happily in an inclusive environment.

Tommy is about to enter Tulane University to study finance-related majors. This very popu-

lar and sunny boy is also a practitioner and promoter of SMIC's character of gratitude.

During his ten-year study in SMIC, Tommy's pure youthful happiness always attracted people

around him to approach him.

During his study in the high school, what Tommy felt most was happiness and trust.Teachers

always encourage high school students to "try it out" as long as it is a study program and club

project that they want to try.

In addition to study, Tommy and his classmates work together to organize "charitable associ-

ations". In his spare time on weekends, he and his classmates hold charity sales to help peo-

ple in real need. In the process of planning and organization, Tommy has very effective com-

munication with students from our school and other schools, which not only exercises organi-

zational ability and leadership, but also increases inter-school communication and knows more

partners with the same frequency.

In the process of applying for university, the high school teachers had a great influence and help

on Tommy. He mentioned that Principal Wilson , as a guide for further education, gave him a

detailed introduction to the activities that he needs to know and actively participate in after

going to university, as well as the precautions for social aspects, etc.. It was these detailed

introductions that made him make his own choice firmly in the process of hesitating to choose

a school.

In addition, Tommy also mentioned the in-depth communication with the subject teachers.

What impressed him the most was talking deeply about the different university life in their

eyes with Teacher Durl and Mecia, and talking about the choice of university majors with

Ms. Wei, which made him full of longing for his university life.

Tommy felt that communication with every teacher was necessary, and he benefited a lot

from it. He also thanked the teachers for their patience and openness, which gave him a

lot of inspiration during and after the application season!

Nina is a tall girl who was born to love sports. She grew up in the environment of SMIC

education and spent a fulfilling and happy childhood.

Volleyball, basketball, badminton... Nina enjoys all kinds of sports. Because of her love for

sports since childhood, Nina wanted to study sports-related majors in the process of choos-

ing a university major. She wanted to do some meaningful work for the athletes on the field.

Towards this goal, Nina and her teachers locked in many schools around the world related

to her ideal majors, and finally chose the major related to human movement at Baylor Uni-

versity combined with various actual situations. This major is relatively small. It is a branch

of sports major. Baylor University is also a popular choice for many sports enthusiasts.

In addition to her strong interest in sports, Nina has never stopped her charity activities.

She had actively participated in the school's "charity club". She had also set up a "charity

shop" with her classmates, selling some popular snacks on a daily basis. All the income

would be donated to charity after the cost was removed.

Thanksgiving character, love and dedication to sports made Nina not limited to the "halo

of famous schools" when choosing a university, but with goals and deliberation, and finally

choose her favorite major, laying a solid foundation for her future career choice.

Eric, a sports-loving Korean-American student, finally decided to attend the University of Ca-

lifornia, Los Angeles, and study economics.

When it came to studying and living on the SMIC campus, Eric was most touched by the

encouragement and tolerance of the teachers. At the beginning of high school, there was

no school team related to sports in the school. Eric and his companions formed a school

football team to integrate sports into daily life.

Eric's team leadership had been improving in various competitions of the school football

team. Sports character and spirit were embodied in daily training and competition. Team

members worked together to cheer and jump for every victory, and encourage and embrace

each other for every failure.

In sports, everyone not only strengthened their physique, but also enhanced team cohesion.
