"Influence life with life, change life with life." At SMIC, love, acceptance, and respect
for every life is the "first and most important lesson" for teachers. Through the recog-
nition and inheritance of teachers from the heart, this concept has penetrated all as-
pects of SMIC education, moistening things silently and nourishing every SMIC baby.
(Teachers participate in the theme training of life education)
In early childhood, teachers nourish children with patience and love. Listen to every young
voice to help children build up awareness of rules and develop good living habits.
In primary school, with the enhancement of children's self-awareness, teachers' respect and
companionship, as well as home-school co-education, are particularly important. Parents and
children grow together, gradually forming a more intimate parent-child relationship, and promo-
ting the growth of children's inner vitality.
In middle school, with the arrival of children's adolescence and the coming of college age, the
way teachers accompany them has gradually changed. Small class teaching, accompanied by
a tutorial system, customizes the exclusive growth and entrance route for each child.
In SMIC, there are too many stories of teachers accompanying children to grow up.
Today, we only select a few to experience the "SMIC companionship" up close. Per-
haps, you will also fall in love with this kind of nourishment of love.
01 Accompany with Heart, Let Children Grow up in Love
If the kindergarten period is to cultivate children's self-care ability and plant the seeds of good
character, care for and accept children in life, then in primary school, with the enhancement of
children's self-awareness, they need to be respected and listened to.
In SMIC, hugging children, squatting down to talk to children, accepting and respecting every
different life, accompanying, appreciating and listening are what the teachers have been doing.
This kind of love that comes out naturally is also the most precious wealth of SMIC Education.
Here, children are not only fully accepted but also respected and discovered. Teachers pay
more attention to children's inner growth and all-around development than external success.
Little C was a first-year freshman. Because she had lived abroad for a while, she was very fluent
in English. She had a lively and lovely personality and loved to share with others. But in the
classroom, teachers often found that Little C was "special". For example, if she didn't respond
to Little C in time, she would be very disappointed and in a bad mood.
For a while, when Little C was in contact with her classmates, she would be very angry if she
met someone who disagreed with her... The head teacher found that Little C was unhappy, so
she communicated with the life education center, hoping that the teachers could give her some
help together.
After learning about the situation, the life education teachers began to accompany her
after class. Every afternoon after school, Little C would go to the Life Education Center
to play sandbox games and sometimes enjoyed the beauty of nature with the teachers,
or read her favorite picture books. During the time spent with Little C, the life education
teachers gradually became her best friends.
It turned out that Little C's parents were busy with work and disciplined her very strictly
at home. A 6-year-old girl is at the stage of forming and growing an independent perso-
nality. She longs to be accompanied, heard, noticed, and appreciated. After the life
education teacher communicated with Little C's family, everyone decided that the
family and school accompanied her together. In this way, at school, little C had the
"special company" of the teachers; at home, her father would accompany her to have
breakfast almost every day; every weekend, the family would go outing together to
feel the warmth of nature and family...
After a semester of home-school co-education, little C's whole state had changed. She began
to have more friends around her, and her parent-child relationship with her parents became
closer and closer. The growth and changes of her parents also gave this sunny and confident
little girl more and more powerful energy.
02 Love Yourself, Accept the Most Special Self
From elementary school to middle school is the key to the transition of students' growth. With
the arrival of puberty, ignorant children grow into graceful teenagers. Whether it is inner growth
or external changes, as well as the evaluation of others, for children, they need to adapt.
In the life education curriculum of SMIC, the meaning of inner life is explored through
the four dimensions of "man and self", "man and man", "man and environment" and
"man and life". Over the years, SMIC has opened the hearts of one child after another
through this silent nourishment. When they enter adolescence, they accept themselves
and love themselves, then they can love others better.
In a twinkling of an eye, little Z had been in junior high school. Looking at the back of
her hand, she smiled helplessly. Little Z was actually a very lovely girl, but the birthmark
on the back of her hand often troubled her.Every time she went out, Little Z always de-
liberately put her hand in her pocket, for fear that this brown birthmark would be seen.
In the class of life education, the teacher shared a picture book with everyone. The
title of the book is "You Are Special". The picture book tells the story of a group of
Wemmicks, a group of small wooden figures carved by the carpenter Eli, each of
which is different. They only do one thing every day, which is to put stickers on others.
They stick gold stars on the pretty and talented Wemmicks or gray dots on those who
they dislike or aren’t as talented.Punchinello is very depressed because he is
covered with gray stickers, feels worthless, feels inferior and feels sorry for himself, and
dares not go out.
However, after experiencing a series of wonderful things, when Punchinello comes to
the carpenter Eli. Eli says to Punchinello: "You are special because you are very spe-
cial, and you don't need any conditions."
The teacher says that everyone is special, and everyone has their own unique life. After
hearing this, Little Z couldn't help stretching out her hand thoughtfully. It seems that this
special mark is not bad!
In SMIC, teachers do not label children, but respect the uniqueness of each life, dis-
cover each child's interests and strengths, teach students in accordance with their ap-
titude, and encourage children to be the best of themselves. In the process of children's
growth, from children to teenagers, and then to high school students whose thinking is
gradually mature, the teachers' love and companionship have never left.
03 Love in the Heart, Action in the Class
SMIC's love for students is reflected in all aspects of school work, and teachers' love
for students is realized through education and teaching.
"How to connect the knowledge of junior and senior high school for freshmen in the
first year of high school, so that they can smoothly transition to high school? In high
school, the learning tasks are even heavier. How can we relieve the pressure of stu-
dents, stimulate their interest in learning, and let them study happily, take the initiative
to explore knowledge?" As an experienced special-grade chemistry teacher, Teacher
Tu has his own tricks.
The crystal-clear and beautiful alum crystal brightened the eyes of the beauty-loving
high school students.
"It's not difficult. The teacher can teach you. You can do it at home."
“Really? I want to try.”
Little X was full of expectations and eager to try. Under the guidance of Teacher Tu,
the clear crystal appeared in front of her like magic.
“Teacher, it's amazing that I made it myself. I can't believe it. It's like a diamond.”
"Look at this boiled egg in my hand. Who can make it bigger? The premise is not to
break the eggshell." Teacher Tu asked the students mysteriously. Everyone thought
hard and talked a lot, but they couldn't figure it out.
"Try soaking eggs in vinegar", Teacher Tu's suggestion seemed to be casual. Little A
was skeptical about the teacher's suggestion. Early the next morning, when she saw
that the eggs that had been soaked overnight had become bigger and there were still
many air bubbles around them, she couldn't wait to ask Teacher Tu for advice. It turned
out that the eggshell had a chemical reaction with the vinegar and was melted away,
leaving only a layer of film. The tension of the egg white made the egg larger than before.
"Chemistry is really interesting. It's so close to our life, and it's amazing at the same
time." Little A gradually fell in love with chemistry class.
